Academic Policies Committee
Shaping the academic programs, standards, and requirements that govern 91²Ö¿â.
The Academic Policies Committee considers the future development of the University as it relates to academic programs, and reviews and recommends goals the University should pursue in fulfilling its educational mission. The Committee serves as a review body for matters affecting academic policy, including admission and graduation requirements, the grading system, curriculum development, proposed new programs, academic standards and regulations, and the academic calendar.
The APC consists of a minimum of five senators appointed by the Senate chair and confirmed by the Senate. The chairs (or designees) of the Undergraduate Council, Graduate Council, Liberal Arts Council, Professional Education Council, and a Student Senate representative serve as ex-officio voting members; the Chief Academic Officer and the Registrar (or their designees) serve as ex-officio non-voting members. The committee elects a chair and vice chair annually, and the chair reports to the Senate on the committee’s activities.
