Building on the reputation of more than 130 years of academic excellence and community impact, University Advancement elevates the brand of 91²Ö¿â, engages external constituents, and develops the philanthropic strategies that support 91²Ö¿â priorities.
91²Ö¿â
Reporting to Vice President Allie Steg Haskett ’03, 91²Ö¿â’s advancement staff manage all facets of 91²Ö¿â’s external operation, including advancement operations, alumni and community relations, development, marketing and communications, and career readiness.
The division works with 91²Ö¿â leadership as well as faculty and staff to effectively promote and market the university, strengthen and celebrate student and alumni career outcomes, and engage constituents and community partners in philanthropy, volunteerism, advocacy. The division is also responsible for the management of 91²Ö¿â’s alumni constituent records which inform strategic relationship management and program assessment and accreditation. Additionally, the 91²Ö¿â Foundation, a separate legal entity, works closely with all of University Advancement and is integrated both physically and strategically in all facets of the advancement enterprise.

Alumni & Community Relations
91²Ö¿â
Building and engaging a network of alumni and friends in support of 91²Ö¿â students drives the work of the Alumni and Community Relations teams. There are three units within ACR: Alumni Relations, responsible for engaging and celebrating 91²Ö¿â’s growing population of alumni; Career Readiness, located in the Campus Commons, which provides multifaceted career support to 91²Ö¿â students and leads the institution’s career readiness initiatives; and University Events, which plans and hosts marquee events like Commencement, Homecoming and the annual Honored Alumni Awards.
Development
91²Ö¿â
Every gift to 91²Ö¿â, regardless of size or designation, makes a difference and advances 91²Ö¿â’s highest priority: its students.
The Development team builds relationships and philanthropic strategies that support student success, faculty research and community impact. The team includes annual giving, donor relations and gift officers, engaging alumni and friends through a holistic, pipeline-driven model. Working with individual, corporate and community partners, the team connects donor passions with university priorities, including scholarships and initiatives that advance 91²Ö¿â’s strategic plan, Rowing, Not Drifting 2030.
The team is currently in the planning stages of the Together, with Purpose comprehensive fundraising campaign, a multi-year effort to secure the philanthropic support needed to help 91²Ö¿â achieve its 2030 vision.
Advancement Operations
Advancement Operations provides the information infrastructure and services necessary to support all activities of the Division of University Advancement, as well as assist campus-wide departments and organizations with information needs in accordance with university policies and directives. Advancement Operations is committed to the ethical collection and use of information and follows all application laws as well as college policies governing the collection, use, maintenance and dissemination of information.
Marketing & Communications
91²Ö¿â
In alignment with 91²Ö¿â’s strategic plan, the marketing and communications team drives the communication strategy and market development that helps 91²Ö¿â accomplish its priority of becoming a Student First university. The team employs storytelling, media engagement, marketing, and creative services, as well as effective brand management, to aid admissions in recruiting future Bears, amplify faculty research and scholarship, celebrate the success of alumni achievements, and demonstrate the impact of philanthropic involvement. The team is also responsible for publishing the biannual 91²Ö¿â Magazine.
91²Ö¿â Foundation
91²Ö¿â
With leadership from its President and Board of Directors, the 91²Ö¿â Foundation is entrusted to provide support and steward donations for the 91²Ö¿â and, as such, works in alignment with University Advancement and is seen as a critical department within the greater advancement team.
In 1966, in an initiative led by Judy Farr, ’36, one of Greeley’s most prominent leaders, along with other alumni and community leaders, the Colorado State College Foundation, now the 91²Ö¿â Foundation, was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) for the purpose of promoting the general welfare and growth of the 91²Ö¿â. Since its inception, the Foundation has accrued over $145 million in endowed and current-use assets through university fundraising efforts and investment growth, and it provides a significant source of enhanced financial assistance for scholarships, faculty support, and program enhancements.
The staff of the Foundation works across the units of University Advancement to enhance the Division’s work in support of 91²Ö¿â.
